MMMMmmmmmm Caffeine
So for my birthday, my wife yet again has given me a most wonderful gift!
(she's very good at this.. knows what I'd love long before I do.. just like before we got married!)
A Mr. Coffee Steam Espresso/Cappuccino Maker- Model ECM20
now I'll openly admit I am far from experienced in the art of properly preparing the sacred coffee bean. and my first experience with this machine proved it. Its documentation was slightly lacking, but with the guidance and watchful eye of my father and my neighbors, we were all able to suffer through an (almost) tolerable cup of cappuccino.
fortunately for me, this morning I finally got it right and had a wonderful cup that rivalled any place that thinks they can charge $4.50 for a cup!
Spelunking!
Awesome!
This past Thursday, July 28th- Kris and I spent three hours dragging our bellies through the dust and mud and muck and had the greatest time in the world!
Innerspace Cavern's new "Wild Tours" are an excellent way to spend a couple of hours! (note: you'll spend the next couple of days recovering unless you're in VERY good shape!)
4 Days on Southbeach
end opinion: the southbeach diet ain't so bad- IF you're willing to commit to it as a life long change!
So this past Sunday, the wife looks at me and says "we're going on to try the south beach diet, ok?"
"ok?" as in, if you don't I'll have yet another moral superiority card to play against you... and she's already working out 5 to 6 days a week, while I work out... when I was 15.
I'm not very picky about my food stuffs anyway, and she does the majority of the cooking, so I said- "ok"
"ok," as in.. "if you can do it, so can I"
Is it so wrong?
Is it so wrong to want an operating system that can smoothly and easily be upgraded?!?!?!
And this isn't a open source/closed source division either.
I've just gotten through a miserable experience with upgrading Mandrake Linux 10.1 to "Club LE 2005" or some similar arrangement of those stupid letters. And simultaneously, fighting with Ms Windows / XP.
Does it have to be this hard?
Should I stay with linux?
Ok, so my neighbor offered to hook me up with one of those end-of-quarter Dell special cupons that you can add to other deals and in the end, wind up with 45% of the list price.. sounds great, right? I wound up with a nice little machine costing $1900-ish after discounts.. (yes, real nice).. so what killed the deal for me? a) the eternal, "something new and better will be out tomorrow"... and the deeper more contemplative ... "am I going to run linux on it?"
Note: no, I didn't buy the machine... but the question remains...
