I never thought I'd be in this situation.
I never thought I'd be the one to ... need to leave.
I'm not weak! I'm not!
I just can't live like this!
But I can't abandon her to this life alone!
My wife is addicted to World of Warcraft, and I can't stomach playing for 10 hours a day anymore.
First of all, a disclaimer, this is a Spring Break trauma only.. thus far. and seeing how she is a teacher, I guess she gets to spend it how she wishes...
And who doesn't want to play WoW with their wife?
I mean as great as it sounds, there are small things that bother me.
Like the parenting of our children. Where we used to be adamantly against TV, now we get upset when they cant' agree on a DVD. And they have a BAJILLION DVDs... so the concept that they can't find one that they'd both like is ludicrous.
but the reality is that they want more mommy/daddy time.
And then there's a noticeable lack of time with friends and family... except for those in WoW.
And our eating patterns have turned to the worse. I haven't gained weight yet, but I'm losing those spectacular abs that my fat's been hiding for years.
And here's the biggest example of massive personality change: the TV addict now watches next to ZERO tv.
She plays all through the night, sleeps till 11 or noon, then plays a bit more. plays wit the kids for a bit, maybe goes grocery shopping, gets the kids to watch a video till 9 plays while they're doing that, then puts them to bed, and goes back to play again till midnight or 2 or so.
and yes, she prefers WoW to alone time with me. ... unless its in WoW.
*sigh* this should be so great.
expect for the kids
and the need to eat and exercise
and friends and family
and jobs
